Go for a beach walk or drive north to the Breazeale Interpretive Center or south to the Padilla Bay Shore Trail. 1093 Bay View-Edison Road, Mount Vernon. 360/428-4044 Larrabee State Park is located on Samish Bay and offers eight miles of hiking trails, including two trails to mountain lakes and a nice stretch of beach. This park offers campsites, picnic tables and shelters, fireplaces, kitchens a playground, amphitheater and boat launch. 245 Chuckanut Drive, Bellingham. 360/676-2093 Breazeale Interpretive Center, located north of Bay View State Park, is headquarters for the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve--11,000 acres designated for research & education with exhibits of natural history, aquaria, estuaries, coasts and watersheds. Interurban Trail is located above Chuckanut Drive between Fairhaven in south Bellingham to Larrabee State Park. Pacific Northwest Trail -- west end of trail stretching to continental divide.
