Established in 1869, Edison soon became a logging and agricultural center. The town's most famous product was Edward R. Murrow, the famous journalist. Located just off Chuckanut at the Bow Junction, Edison remains an area hub with its many shops and eating establishments. Not only is Edison situated in the beautiful Samish delta but it enjoys views of Mt. Baker, Samish Bay and the San Juan Islands. Edison sits in the heart of a rich agricultural area and is one of many communities that thrived through the first half of the century and that have since melded into the region now known as Bow. As you explore this area keep an eye out for vestiges of bygone eras, visible in the architecture, old pilings, dikes & barns.
